Polyphagous Shot-Hole Borer (PSHB) Works

The Town of Claremont Contractors will be inspecting selected trees identified in the Town in the next few months for signs of PSHB.  This may include chemical application and injections. These works will be undertaken instead of carrying out tree removals as previously advised by DPIRD to contain the spread of PSHB.

In addition to this, some tree reduction pruning may take place. These measures are to be taken in attempts to remove a tree as a last resort. This is important in maintaining the tree canopy in streets, parks and reserves which offers habitat to fauna and provides shade, leading to reduced urban heating.
